The Sustainability Experts®, announced today that the October 28, 2016 edition of ANSI Standard Action includes the announcement of the second public comment period for the Life Cycle Impact Assessment draft standard, formally called the “Life Cycle Impact Assessment Framework and Guidance for Establishing Public Declarations and Claims, For: Environmental Declarations for Products and Systems, Environmentally Preferable Product Claims, Carbon Footprint Profiles.”

Did you know that pro bono service is the fastest growing domestic volunteer program among leading global companies in the last three years? According to CECP’s report on trends in corporate societal engagement, Giving in Numbers: 2016 Edition, the percentage of companies offering pro bono services in the US increased from 43% in 2013 to 54% in 2015. What’s more, CECP’s report on international corporate giving – Giving Around the Globe – also found an uptick in this skills-based volunteering practice with global companies reporting a rise in pro bono opportunities from 17% to 24%.

‘Minnesota CSR & Sustainability Stories’ Forum Set for Dec. 14

To hear how Twin Cities news outlets are covering business stories involving environmental and social issues, 3BL Media will host a breakfast and networking forum for corporate, nonprofit and agency communications professionals on Dec. 14. Attendance is free.

“Meet the Media: Minnesota CSR & Sustainability Stories,” will be held from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. in the Events and Games Studio at the Radisson Red, 609 South Third St., Minneapolis. Breakfast will be provided by Peace Coffee and Patisserie 46.

21CF and National Geographic Take Bronx High-school Film Students from The Cinema School on a Field Trip to 'MARS'

In the weeks leading up to the global premiere of National Geographic's six-part series "MARS" on Monday, Nov. 14, 21st Century Fox and National Geographic took 200 high-school students attending The Cinema School (TCS) in Bronx, N.Y., on a field trip to an immersive Mars experience featuring a virtual reality simulator and an anti-gravity treadmill this week. The students of The Cinema School, the nation's first film high school founded in 2009 by 21CF-supported Ghetto Film School (GFS) in partnership with the New York City Department of Education, also got a chance to hear about what it will take for humans to live on Mars.
