In 2007, I took a manager role on our GoDaddy.com Sales Site team. It was not just a change of position; we opened a small office in Denver, and my family and I moved there.

I started writing code before I had even finished my degree. Soon, I was leading development projects, moving from traditional projects to agile ones. The real turning point came when I joined an innovation and entrepreneurship lab in Medellín that worked on city challenges

Honestly, I did not grow up dreaming about Payroll. I studied Economics and Management, and my first opportunity in the profession came through consulting for a Payroll software market leader in South Africa.

My career journey began five years ago, when I decided to make a career change and step away from my life as a qualified lawyer to pursue a career in tech.

I'm a Senior Recruiting Coordinator at GoDaddy, and I've been part of the team for the past four years. My role gives me the opportunity to create a seamless and positive hiring experience for candidates, which is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

About ten years ago, I began working as a proofreader at a publishing house. For six years, I made sure that everything about to be published was as error-free as humanly possible.

I didn’t grow up with a perfectly mapped-out plan to become a Software Engineer. Coming from Jaipur, India and pursuing my Bachelor of Technology there, my journey into technology was driven more by curiosity than certainty.

I joined GoDaddy over seven years ago as an HR Specialist in our Belgrade office. At the time, I was wearing a lot of hats - supporting core HR operations, conducting interviews, and organizing our Quick Start onboarding sessions for new hires.

One of the things I’ve appreciated most in my nine years at GoDaddy is that your impact isn’t determined by where you sit—it’s determined by the ownership you take. That’s what “Your Work. Global Impact.” means to me.

Hi, I'm Tihomir Petrov — though most people call me Tim. I'm a System Engineer II based in Sofia, Bulgaria, and my path into engineering isn't the traditional one. I studied Economics and Management, which on paper has very little to do with servers and infrastructure.
