SC Johnson Supports World’s Largest Tropical Reforestation Project

SC Johnson today announced that the funds raised from its 2017 acre-for-acre match challenge will be used to kick off the world’s largest tropical reforestation project in the Brazilian Amazon. Through a partnership with Conservation International (CI) earlier this year to support the virtual reality film Under the Canopy, SC Johnson enlisted the public to help protect 10,000 acres of the Amazon rainforest through its acre-for-acre match campaign.

Current donations made across Dell’s 71 youth learning partners globally are expected to bring technology education to more than 1.5 million underserved youth. With the expected contributions, a total of 4 million children will be impacted through Dell’s strategic giving programs, since 2014.

Because of innovative work we are doing at our Murfreesboro, Tennessee, plant, General Mills was invited to be included in “WASTED! The Story of Food Waste,” a documentary making its debut in theaters and online today.

Since August 2015, our Murfreesboro plant has been processing leftover whey from Yoplait Greek lines to produce 10 percent (1.6 megawatts) of the plant’s electrical needs.

In addition, excess heat from its biogas generator has reduced the plant’s natural gas needs by 10 percent.

AEG’s LA Kings raised more than $175,000 for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) at the team’s annual Golf Tournament at Pacific Palms Resort on October 2.

The golf tournament, which serves as a fundraiser for CHLA, was attended by all of the current LA Kings players, numerous alumni and the team’s hockey operations executives who participated in the 18-hole tournament along with more than 140 donors.
