In honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) and Scholarship America announced the second annual People with Disabilities Scholarship Program. The program’s goal is to help people with disabilities obtain the education or training they need to succeed in the careers they choose.

World Wildlife Fund (WWF) connects educators and parents with the materials they need to help kids explore and understand the natural world around them with a new educational resource, Wild Classroom. Now available for free download, Wild Classroom is a growing library of species-focused toolkits that can be used to enhance children’s learning inside or outside of a traditional learning environment.

The Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation today announced the opening of the application period for the 2018 Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarships which will run from October 5 through December 5, 2017. The scholarship program urges students to apply to #Get5Give5 to help end hunger in their communities.

AT&T and Girls Scouts Teach Kids the Power of Code

I loved being a Brownie. My mom was our troop leader, and it was fun to sing “Make new friends but keep the old” in a round. I felt proud earning badges and wearing my uniform, and liked competing with the other girls in my troop on who could sell the most Girl Scout cookies. I now realize that these early lessons in setting goals, learning new skills and being part of a team helped prepare me for adulthood.

Many corporate citizenship programs involve initiatives that reflect immediate problems (such as apprenticeship programs to fill near-term openings), the nature of their company (such as financial literacy), or local community needs (arts, athletics, etc.). In addition, though, some business leaders and corporations are addressing a social goal that is outside their business expertise and far beyond next year’s workforce projections. They are also taking a set of actions that tap into the whole array of corporate assets to solve a pressing problem.

149 Middle and High Schools Join Get Schooled’s Seventh Annual Fall Attendance Challenge Reaching More than 100,000 Students

In an effort to combat chronic abseentism and boost attendance, 149 middle and high schools around the country have joined the 2017 Get Schooled Fall Attendance Challenge. Launching today, the national competition uses Get Schooled’s award-winning gamification strategies to boost student engagement and school attendance. Most active schools can ‘unlock the box’ and earn a $500 grant. Top performing schools can earn a $3,000 grant and a custom-designed experience for their school.

Roadtrip Nation, renowned for its New York Times best-selling career guide and award-winning documentary television series, announced today that a new documentary, “Roadtrip Nation Presents: A Balanced Equation,” will air on American Public Television stations nationally starting on September 1. Made possible by the support of AT&T, through its AT&T Aspire initiative, and distributed through KQED, “A Balanced Equation”—the fourteenth season of “Roadtrip Nation”—follows three young women on a cross-country journey as they meet and interview women who have built fulfilling careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
