UK Food Charities Face Real Challenges in Feeding the Most Vulnerable

Neighbourly, the social network for social good reveals in its latest survey that 218 UK food charities face real challenges in helping to feed society’s most vulnerable: lack of storage, refrigeration, transport and funding are limiting the voluntary sector’s ability to do more for those in need of food. Collectively, these organisations help to feed over 30,000 people every week, equivalent to 1.56 million meals per year, and face major challenges trying to tackle the country’s food poverty.

Fox opened its doors to seven of the university's top female graduate students on July 13 as part of an exchange organized by Lee and the Women's Empowerment programs at the U.S. Department of State. The visit, which included a full tour of the studio lot and its operations, gave the students an up close and personal look at the American entertainment industry.

LGBTQ youth face higher rates of bullying, discrimination, and homelessness than their non LGBTQ peers. The recent attempts to withhold rights from transgender students in multiple states is indicative of the struggles that LGBTQ youth face today. Without major changes to the current trends of anti-LGBTQ sentiments, youth will continue to suffer at home and in schools. Rates of LGBTQ youth homelessness will remain at high levels, the disproportionate suicide rate will not change, and youth will continue to feel unsafe at schools due to discrimination.
