Athletes, Leaders Personify Fair Trade in Portrait Series

Oakland’s Fair Trade USA and apparel partners Patagonia, Outerknown, Obey, Athleta and Prana have collaborated on a photo project featuring portraits of company leaders and athletes associated with the brands wearing their favorite Fair Trade Certified products for Fashion Revolution Day on Monday, April 24. Among the featured athletes are free diver Kimi Werner and surfer Dan Malloy for Patagonia and climber Chris Sharma and surfer Kelly Potts for Prana. The “We Wear Fair Trade” project officially debuts on Fashion Revolution Day.

Duke Energy Foundation announced today it is awarding $50,000 to support efforts by Bat Conservation International (BCI) to help with the recovery of the continent’s threatened and endangered bat species. Bolt EV Owners Drive 4.5 Million Miles

Chevrolet reported today that 3,492 Bolt EV owners in the United States have driven a cumulative 4,570,300 miles as of April 2, 2017 since the vehicle went on sale in December 2016. These all-electric miles have resulted in more than 175,000 gallons of fuel saved based on the average EPA-estimated 26 mpg for 2017 vehicles in the U.S.
