Workplace, Meet WELL: Enhancing the Employee Experience Through Healthy Buildings
Human resource professionals see firsthand the benefits of promoting health and wellness in the workplace. As people, we spend about 90 percent of our time indoors, and a lot of that time is spent at work. HR departments are always experimenting with new approaches to enhance employee health and wellness, and now, leading research is demonstrating how better buildings can help make people more productive, reduce absenteeism and create more enjoyable, healthful work environments.

Houston Resident Uses Volunteer Coordination Experience, Tech Skills to Help After Hurricane Harvey
When Ronnie Devries realized how many Houston residents were in need following the devastation of Hurricane Harvey, he knew he could help. With experience as the volunteer coordinator for TXRX Labs, a local nonprofit “hackerspace,” Ronnie helped create a makeshift command center at Houston’s George R. Brown Convention Center – which quickly became a shelter for thousands of residents displaced by the storm. Working overnight, he helped set up a system for volunteer coordination to ensure volunteers were matched with all aspects of shelter operations.
Noise Isn’t Just Annoying - It’s Bad for Your Health

He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Noise Control Engineering of the USA (INCE-USA) and is Managing Editor for the publication Noise/News International. IWBI WELL Tip: All Projects In
At IWBI, we believe that all projects and building space types should be able (and encouraged) to apply the WELL Building Standard™. Access to spaces that optimize our health and mental well-being is a fundamental human right. To further this goal, in February 2017, IWBI introduced a pathway for new project types to pursue WELL Certification. This pathway allows for all building type sectors to collaborate with IWBI to adapt the WELL v1 and pilot programs through the creation of a custom scorecard. Our mantra is: all projects in.
On Track to Sustainably Source Oats
Our beloved Cheerios were named Cheeri-Oats when they launched in 1941. So you know that oats have been at the core of our business for a long time. Dating back to 1928, in fact.

Today, nearly four years into our commitment to sustainably source our ingredients, we are well on our way – particularly with oats.

As a global food company, our business depends on quality ingredients being grown and available to us every year. We see the ingredients we buy as a way to be transparent about where and how crops for General Mills foods are grown. So, in 2013, we set out to sustainably source 100 percent of our ten priority ingredients by 2020.
