Planet

At Bacardi, we prioritize reducing our impact on the environment – an approach that dates to the very beginning of the company in 1862 when Bacardi founder Don Facundo Bacardí Massó accepted the Spanish government’s challenge to reduce surplus amounts of molasses in Cuba, leading to the crafting of BACARDÍ® rum. Repurposing old whisky barrels to age his rum was also part of his original plan, a practice still in use today. Our commitment to be Good Spirited has grown over seven generations and today we continue to take real action to protect the planet. Our focus is on reducing our greenhouse gas emissions, replenishing water to protect this essential natural resource, ensuring our packaging is reusable, recyclable or biodegradable, and sourcing our natural ingredients from sustainably accredited sources. This is how we do the right thing.
