In 2015, Teresa White became the first woman, and the first African-American, to hold the title of president at Aflac in its nearly 60-year history. She credits her success with her ability to write computer code, not only because it’s an unusual skill for an African-American woman but because, she says, it gave her confidence.

The Barclays Eagle Lab in London’s Notting Hill was abuzz with entrepreneurial energy when a ‘speed-networking’ event, hosted by The Female Founders Forum, paired some of the UK’s top businesswomen with would-be entrepreneurs.

Until recently, graduates wanting to serve in the Armed Forces have often had to put a civilian career on hold while they pursue their military career. Now Barclays Armed Forces Transition, Employment and Resettlement (AFTER) programme is championing a third option, doing both, with a bespoke entry process for university students who want to apply to the Barclays Graduate Programme and at the same time be part of the Reserves.

And given that 57 percent of job seekers consider perks and benefits to be a top factor when deciding to accept a new job, it isn’t too surprising that companies are focusing more and more on them.

Despite its agricultural richness, the diversity of its craft products, and the existence of three industrial zones, the Kairouan region in Tunisia has experienced limited economic growth. This is one of the reasons that led Ben Fraj to focus Go Market on Marketing and Social Entrepreneurship to meet the expectations of the various entrepreneurs in the region. “There were potential markets—from hair accessories to wholesale agricultural equipment,” she stated.

Many students dream of becoming pilots, but are often deterred by economic or social barriers.
