Avista Foundation Receives $1 Million Pledge to Support Employee Engagement

The Scott and Liz Morris Employee Engagement Fund is being established through a $1 million pledge by the couple to the Avista Foundation to recognize and encourage Avista employee contributions to communities in which they live and work. The pledge will be fulfilled upon the successful completion of Avista’s merger with Hydro One.

Republic Services of Northern California Hosts Compost Giveaway

Republic Services Northern California team recently hosted a compost give-away event for City of Martinez residents at the Martinez Yacht Club. Republic Services employees along with community partners and volunteers attended the event to support the give-away. Residents were encouraged to bring 5 gallon buckets to fill with the compost material, and were allowed to take up to 30 gallons per household. More than 80 residents attended the event where Republic gave away roughly 20 yards of compost material. The remaining compost was donated to a local community garden in need.

Hollywood, Health & Society (HH&S) has named television projects from across 21st Century Fox businesses as honorees for this year’s Sentinel Awards, an annual ceremony recognizing TV storylines and movies that inform, educate, and motivate viewers to make choices for healthier and safer lives. FX Networks’ You’re the Worst, National Geographic’s documentary Gender Revolution: A Journey with Katie Couric, and the Twentieth Century Fox Television production This Is Us will all receive awards at a ceremony in Los Angeles on September 27.

HanesBrands Sends Underwear and Activewear to Assist Hurricane Harvey Victims

Hanes partnered with nonprofit charity Delivering Good and North Carolina-based transportation company Glen Raven Logistics to get the more than 1 million items of underwear, socks, intimate apparel, T-shirts, and activewear fleece valued at more than $2 million to flooding victims in the aftermath of the late August 2017 storm. The company also donated $25,000 to the American Red Cross to assist storm victims.
