The FCA Foundation, the charitable arm of North American automaker FCA US LLC, has awarded $500,000 in grants to provide U.S. veterans, service members, and their families with support services and workforce development training.

Helping Veterans Rebuild Their Lives, One Home at a Time

Lockheed Martin demonstrated its ongoing mission to serve our nation’s military veterans and their families by donating $97,000 last month to Homes for Our Troops, a nonprofit organization that builds specially adapted custom homes for severely injured post-9/11 veterans. Over the past six years, Lockheed Martin has committed more than $400,000 to the charitable organization.

U.S. Foundations Are Giving More Abroad

Recently, the Council on Foundations and the Foundation Center released its five-year study, The State of Global Giving by U.S. Foundations: 2011-2015, which showed that grant-making by U.S. foundations to charitable organizations outside the United States reached an all-time high in 2015 with $9.3 billion in grants compared with $2.1 billion in 2002 (an increase of over 300%). International giving represented over 27% of all grants made by U.S. foundations, and the average grant size during this period tripled from just over $200,000 to over $604,000.

KeyBank Finances New Development of Mixed-Use Property Serving the Homeless and Individuals with Sensory and Mobility Impairments

KeyBank Community Development Lending & Investment (CDLI) provided Cook Inlet Housing Authority (CIHA) $6.9 million in combined construction-to-permanent loan financing for the development of Elizabeth Place Apartments, along with $5.8 million in LIHTC equity. Elizabeth Place Apartments will be a mixed-use project in downtown Anchorage, AK with commercial space and 38 units of affordable housing for those earning between 50 – 60% area median income (AMI). The project will also have 12 market rate units.

Arrow Electronics was the presenting sponsor of the Cherry Creek Schools Foundation’s Annual Cardboard Challenge for the sixth consecutive year. The STEM education competition for K-12 students featured a wide array of innovative creations – including a fully-functioning foosball table and robot replica – all crafted from cardboard and other recycled materials.
