“I always remember, one of the first loans that I ever made was to a woman who was starting out a frozen hors d’oeuvres company,” says Riley, Executive-Vice President at Scotiabank. “She had some seed capital from her father and I remember thinking, ‘Wow, this woman’s going to make a go of it!’ And she did.
