Associates at the ScottsMiracle-Gro headquarters in Marysville, Ohio, gather each year to plant row upon row of raised-bed gardens on company grounds. Then, from spring through fall, they volunteer to nurture the gardens, watering, weeding and harvesting them weekly with an eye toward serving the greater good. The produce is delivered to the Marysville Food Pantry to help feed about 75 families and more than 1,200 people weekly.

Sherlock Gnomes Tracks Down Free Screening for Local Youth

Embracing the Viacommunity spirit of “All good, all around,” Paramount’s volunteers gave back to kids in their local community with an evening of activities and an outdoor screening of Paramount’s animated flick Sherlock Gnomes at Los Angeles’ Lemon Grove Park.

The festivities were part of a program called Summer Night Lights, run by the City of Los Angeles Mayor’s Office of Gang Reduction & Youth Development (GRYD) and The GRYD Foundation. This was the fifth consecutive year that Paramount has hosted the event, which offers artistic and recreational activities, health screenings, educational workshops and more to children and young adults living in areas highly impacted by gang violence and poverty.

Wells Fargo Joins Origis Energy USA to Expand Clean Energy Supply for Florida

Wells Fargo (NYSE: WFC) announced it has committed the capital in construction debt, as well as the tax-equity funding of $35 million for the new solar generation facility, known as FL Solar 5 in Orange County, Florida. This solar facility will include half a million solar panels and will also reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 57,000 tons per year. That’s the annual equivalent of removing 9,300 automobiles from the roads.

One of the United States’ most complex communications systems for connecting pre-hospital care emergency responders will receive a major upgrade by Overland Contracting, Inc. The Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems (MIEMSS) chose OCI to serve as the systems integrator and to oversee the design and implementation of the upgrade of its communications system, which is approaching the end of its anticipated lifespan.
