Fight for Love: Five Ways to Mobilize Millennials Behind Your Cause

For decades, the ASPCA has been advocating for better breeding practices and adoption for dogs with campaigns that focused on educating the public on where pet store dogs come from.

But over time, the influx of digital technology has completely transformed how people get dogs. And Millennials, the largest generation of dog lovers ever, are increasingly relying on online sources, which makes it difficult to track where our furry friends are coming from.

With profound differences in how Millennials shop, seek information and share content, how do you re-imagine your cause to reach, engage and inspire a new generation?

BBMG recently partnered with the ASPCA to concept and design a campaign to mobilize Millennials as the generation that can end puppy mills.

VMware Diversity and Inclusion Update 2018

This year, the conversation around diversity has been amplified. While progress is being made in the area of diversity and inclusion (D&I) from Hollywood to the C-suite, company diversity report releases alone won’t move the needle in our communities. Conversation – and action – need to take place every day.

20th Century Fox Partners With GLSEN to Create LGBTQ School Discussion Guides Based on the New Film “Love, Simon”

In an effort to combat the discrimination and exclusion that so many young people in the LGBTQ community encounter during their high school years, 20th Century Fox Film has announced a partnership with GLSEN to create two new resources for educators and students to discuss sexual identity, coming out, and harassment. The discussion guide and lesson plan are based on the studio’s new film Love, Simon, a heartfelt coming-of-age story about 17-year-old Simon Spier coming out to his family and friends. The movie arrives in theaters in the U.S. on March 16, and the school resources will be available for free download at GLSEN.org.

Why Diversity and Inclusion Should Matter to Financial Advisers

The face of the U.S. financial consumer is changing rapidly. Millennials are expected to drive a seismic shift in attitudes that will shape our culture, how they seek financial advice, and where they choose to work. With the changing demographics in the workplace and marketplace, advisers have an opportunity to build their business and to attract and retain younger clients by demonstrating a commitment to inclusion and being supportive of the LGBT community.

Corporate Responsibility

Response to WSJ’s “Stocks Weren’t Made for Social Climbing”

Andy Kessler made some interesting points in his piece, “Stocks Weren’t Made for Social Climbing." Chiefly, we at CECP: The CEO Force for Good, agree with his emphasis on the importance of profits. The issue is how you get there and how to create sustainable value, not just short-term gains. When he suggests that to invest in socially motivated companies, one is passing up gains, he proceeds from a false dichotomy. Properly realized, the value proposition of a corporation—its outputs, its employee and community relations, its returns, and, yes, its philanthropy—are not linear; they are circular.

Time to Align Corporate Retirement Funds with Company Values

Now that millennial-aged employees represent the majority of the workforce, it’s increasingly important that corporate management teams finds ways to engage these employees in the company. Creating defined contribution plans which connect to millennial core values – like solving human, social and environmental problems through their work and investments – can spur employee engagement, spark innovation and provide companies with a competitive edge in their pursuit of the “best and brightest” employees.
