Tata Consultancy Services Partners with American Red Cross to Support Disaster Relief Efforts

The American Red Cross announced that Tata Consultancy Services a leading global IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, has pledged $500,000 to support Disaster Relief through the Annual Disaster Giving Program (ADGP). The pledge is in response to damage caused by Hurricane Harvey, Irma and Maria.

Fighting the Cholera Epidemic in Yemen

Since the beginning of the armed conflict in March 2015, the humanitarian situation has continued to deteriorate in Yemen. According to the UN, nearly 80% of the population needs humanitarian assistance, particularly regarding access to healthcare. The cholera epidemic is part of this very deteriorated health situation and the spread of the disease cannot be prevented without decisive action to end it quickly.

JetBlue Leverages Assets to Create Long-Term Hurricane Relief

It’s been over three weeks since Hurricane Maria made landfall, leaving a path of destruction in its wake. As the tenth-most intense Atlantic hurricane on record, the storm devastated Puerto Rico, completely destroying the island's power grid and leaving all 3.4 million residents without electricity. San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz estimates that some areas will remain without power for four to six months. As with many natural disasters, relief efforts are concentrated on the first few weeks after the disaster, but one company has prepped a long-term relief plan to ensure the victims of Hurricane Maria are not left abandoned in the weeks – and months – to come.

Duke Energy Foundation Increases Hurricane Irma Relief Contributions to $1 Million

To assist its communities, customers and neighbors devastated by Hurricane Irma, Duke Energy today increased its contribution to relief agencies to $1 million.

The company announced a donation of $750,000 to assist organizations and agencies that provide services during disaster relief; adding to its $250,000 donation on Sept. 11 to the Volunteer Florida Foundation – Florida Disaster Fund, the state's official private fund established to assist Florida communities with response and recovery activities.
