Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) today announced $6 million toward neighborhood revitalization efforts with 47 grants to nonprofits through the Wells Fargo Housing Foundation’s 2017 Priority Markets Program. The 2017 Wells Fargo Housing Foundation Priority Markets Program supports projects, programs and initiatives that help remove barriers to sustainable housing in low- and moderate-income communities.

PepsiCo Recycling is expanding its second year of the Zero Impact Fund, which offers eligible* colleges and universities an opportunity to bring campus eco-innovations to life. Through the Zero Impact Fund, schools can submit ideas to accomplish their environmental goals, with winning applications receiving up to $10,000 each from PepsiCo Recycling. In its first year, the Zero Impact Fund received applications from more than 40 different campuses and awarded grants to eight schools.

Herb Virgo’s vision arrived on four wheels, painted a yellow as bright as the future he hopes it’ll bring to the North End.

A decommissioned school bus, a relic from the Springfield school district, sits behind the greenhouse operated by the Keney Park Sustainability Project, which Virgo directs. By Thanksgiving, the bus’ transformation will be complete, creating a mobile teaching kitchen, a roving oasis to bring relief to the food deserts of Hartford’s poorest neighborhoods.

Freeport-McMoRan’s Green Valley Community Investment Fund Grants $450,000 to Arizona Communities

Recipients were selected by the Green Valley CIF, which is overseen by a committee of community leaders assembled by the Freeport-McMoRan Community Partnership Panel, to identify and address community needs in health care, education, environment, economic development and transportation with positive, sustainable solutions.

The CIF was established in 2010, as part of Freeport-McMoRan’s objectives to empower communities to develop and identify projects that would help ensure their self-sufficiency beyond the presence of Freeport-McMoRan operations.
