JPMorgan Chase & Co., Operation Homefront, a national nonprofit that builds strong, stable, and secure military families, recently partnered with TV personalities, entrepreneurs, and authors, Drew and Jonathan Scott, and Asian Real Estate Association of America Education Foundation to present and award a military family with a mortgage-free home donated by Chase.

Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Don DeGuzman and Marine Sergeant Ricardo Mendez were elated to learn they weren’t just at Mazda Raceway for an exciting weekend of racing, they were there to be honored in a very special way for their courageous service to our country.

Steve McGugan’s passion to help people in the midst of crisis didn’t diminish when he retired from the U.S. Army. Only the battlefield has changed. Driven to run to the sound of the guns, as one of his generals said, and responding to urgent situations distinguished his 24 years in the Army, including 39 months in combat operations. That drive led McGugan, a colonel, to a new career. He joined Duke Energy in January as director of emergency preparedness.
