Advancing Diversity & Inclusion at Mars, Incorporated: For Second Year in a Row, Mars Earns 90 Percent Score in 2018 Corporate Equality Index

Mars, Incorporated received a score of 90 percent for a second year on the 2018 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), after jumping from 60% in 2015. The national benchmarking survey reports on corporate policies and practices relating to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. Mars’ score reflects its commitment to LGBTQ workplace equality, with respect to tangible policies, benefits, and practices.

The Southern Poverty Law Center: Seeking Justice in 2017 and Beyond

For nearly five decades, the Southern Poverty Law Center has been fighting hate and seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of society. In the early 1970s, the fledgling nonprofit in Montgomery, Alabama, used newly passed civil rights laws to dismantle remnants of Jim Crow in the Deep South. In the ensuing years, the SPLC shut down some of the nation’s most violent white supremacist groups by winning crushing, multimillion-dollar jury verdicts on behalf of their victims.

CBRE Appoints Karen Ellzey Co-Executive Sponsor of LGBT & Allies

CBRE announced that Karen Ellzey, CBRE Executive Managing Director, Global Workplace Solutions (GWS), has taken a leadership role for LGBT & Allies. Ms. Ellzey will serve as the Co-Executive Sponsor of the company’s employee network group.

Founded in 2009, LGBT & Allies is a group dedicated to supporting our LGBT community while influencing CBRE diversity and inclusion practices. Since launching the group, LGBT & Allies has grown to 300 employees.
