Last week, nonprofits and companies alike convened in New York City for the 4th Annual Cause Marketing Summit (CMS) – dedicated to unpacking Purpose-driven marketing, partnerships and the most engaging cause marketing campaigns of the past year. The one-day event featured the latest key insights from cause marketing experts on issues such as civil liberties, mental illness and STEM, as well as how the field continues to innovate to engage stakeholders around these critical issues.
Cerro Verde, a Freeport-McMoRan company, is constructing a new school building for early childhood education. Children who live in the neighborhood of Congata, in the Uchumayo district of Arequipa, Peru, will attend the new school buildings in the fall of 2018. The new building complex for the school will include classrooms for three-year-olds, as well as a multipurpose lounge, administrative offices and a cafeteria.
Earth Day at the FCA US headquarters often brings out the “wild” in our employees, but this year, we were schooled on the ways in which we can do our part to help mitigate the effects of global climate change in our homes. As part of an on-going collaboration with FCA US, Avondale High School students were tasked with designing and building model homes with a system that used chemical reactions of plants and other autotrophs, as well as pollinators, to help reduce the effects of human activity on the environment.
In celebration of Earth Week 2018, Seattle Pacific University, the Puget Sound Food Hub and Sodexo, the university’s dining services partner, teamed up to launch its first-ever Farm to Table lunch event. The event will give students a taste of new locally-sourced menu items and an opportunity to connect directly with Seattle-area farmers to learn first-hand about the menu’s ingredients.
In 2008, Dell started using post-consumer recycled plastics sourced from water bottles and milk jugs in our products. In 2013, we took it a step further and started putting plastics from e-waste recovered via Dell’s recycling programs back into new products. But we felt there were more ways we could contribute.

Tyson Foods’ Upward Academy, an in-plant education program that provides classes at no cost, recently surpassed 100,000 hours of instruction to more than 1,000 of the company’s team members.
Upward Academy launched in 2016 at one of the company’s plants in Springdale, Arkansas, and is now offered in 27 facilities in Arkansas, Missouri, Texas and North Carolina. Forty plants are projected to offer the program by the end of September 2018, and expansion will continue over the next several years to cover the company’s entire footprint.

JetBlue (NASDAQ:JBLU) today announced the newest round of grants provided by the JetBlue Foundation, a STEM education-focused entity which furthers the airline’s efforts to place aviation top-of-mind as a career choice for students. This year, the JetBlue Foundation is fueling 12 aviation programs with nearly $250,000 in grants to support their science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) based initiatives.
