This week is National Inclusion Week, it is a chance to reflect on what inclusion really means, celebrate inclusion, and commit to building a more inclusive culture.
STEM took the spotlight with the release of the “Hidden Figures” film which increased awareness of past gender and racial inequity. The film has not only inspired girls to pursue their interests in STEM but it also encouraged society and companies to address the STEM gender gap that is still present today.
As many educational institutions embrace technology and evolve their educational models, an almost equal number struggle to adequately join in this digital revolution. The result is a stark divide in our educational system and in public policy.
Make-A-Wish® Mid-Atlantic grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Each year, approximately 840 children in the Mid-Atlantic region are eligible to have their wish granted, but the hundreds of wishes Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic grants each year would go unanswered if it weren’t for local donations from generous individuals and corporate partners like Chipotle DC.
