CITGO Lake Charles looks for opportunities to award deserving local students for academic excellence and recently awarded $5,000 in scholarship funds to McNeese State University Business students. The MSU business scholarship recipients each received a $1,000 scholarship towards their college education – a share of the $5,000 scholarship funds that CITGO awards to Business students annually.

Brayden Bell, a 2017 graduate of Alpena Community College’s Utility Technician Program, was one of two recipients selected to receive a $2,500 Consumers Energy/Jeffrey Creel Memorial Scholarship. Bell used the scholarship to attend 10-week courses held at the Consumers Energy’s training center in Marshall.

When young people are out on the land, the evidence is out there for them to see. Our history helps them know who they are as Tłı̨cho people.”
AEG’s LA Galaxy Foundation has formed a new partnership with Playworks to support programming in Southern California schools during the 2017-18 school year. As part of the partnership, the LA Galaxy will donate adidas LA Galaxy jerseys to youth in the Playworks soccer program. Playworks, a nonprofit promoting the power of play for children before, during and after school, serves more than 40,000 children in 64 schools across Southern California.
