Sam Huston is Chief of Party for Tetra Tech’s U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Water Supply, Sanitation, and Hygiene Financing (WASH-FIN) project, which focuses on closing financing gaps to achieve universal access to water and sanitation services. Sam has 15 years of experience working in the WASH sector, with expertise in infrastructure financing, utility reform, and water-related conflict issues in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and the United States.

Tetra Tech has been a longtime supporter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB), helping communities around the world meet their basic human needs. Tetra Tech partnered with the EWB Boston Professional Chapter to help bring clean, reliable water to the 4,000 residents of Mapinduzi, Tanzania. Tetra Tech supported the project through its 2016 Charity of the Year employee giving campaign, which raised funds for system installation in 2017.

In just a few days, the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption will launch its 2018 Best Adoption-Friendly Workplace survey. This survey measures the financial reimbursement given to employees who adopt, paid time off to employees who adopt as well as any benefits given to employees who are foster parents.

The LBG Model is used internationally. Canadian companies are using the LBG model to guide community investment in 39 countries around the world. While outside of Canada, the LBG Model is used by companies operating in 171 countries.

Arriving in Delhi by night doesn’t give you a true sense of the city’s vastness. The low hum of hundreds of taxis whizzing around the airport terminal and the dirt kicked up from the wheels of 11:00 p.m. traffic blur the senses. But when morning came, and I saw the prim, gleaming hotels and office buildings of Gurgaon rise from a sprawling landscape of poverty and poke through the hazy, brown-grey horizon line, a clearer picture of India emerged.

With the message “Made to Give” appearing in stores across the U.S., the brand engaged both employees and consumers in a variety of efforts to support communities in need.

This time of year, our thoughts are often full of colorfully-wrapped gift bags or boxes with big bright bows. While the holiday season is a special time for giving, we are thankful as well for the opportunity to strengthen lives and communities all year long.
