Carolyn Bloodworth is an effective team builder who works tirelessly to meet the basic needs of Michigan residents through Consumers Energy Foundation and Consumers Energy employee volunteers. Throughout her tenure as director of Corporate Giving at Consumers Energy, she has raised hundreds of millions of dollars for our communities in Michigan.

After graduating with an undergrad degree in Electronic Engineering Technology, she began her career as an engineer and technical writer. Currently she is a Senior Advisor for IT Business Consulting at Dell Technologies. Yes, she is a rising female talent in the STEM industry, but there’s so much more to Kris.

In 2000, Techbridge Girls (TBG) - a leader in supporting girls and marginalized communities in breaking into the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields - was launched at the Chabot Space & Science Center in Oakland, California. As STEM fields have historically been dominated by males, women and girls, especially those of color, are consistently and disproportionately left out and often lack information on the multitude of STEM career opportunities available to them. In 2015, Subaru began funding TBG’s after school programs in Seattle, WA, and has since become a national supporter of all three TBG direct service locations.

Women’s Entrepreneurial Empowerment in Ecuador | Erb Institute Impact Project

Earlier this year, Erb Institute student, Chris Owen, MBA/MS 2020, worked with Casa María Amor in Cuenca, Ecuador via an Erb Institute Impact Project. This video features such a project. Casa María Amor is a women’s shelter on the outskirts of Cuenca in the Andes Mountains. Chris conceived, developed and launched an Erb Impact project to help the women of Casa María Amor develop skills aimed at achieving economic independence after leaving abusive relationships.
