FCA US Invests $30 Million in All-new Autonomous Driving and Advanced Testing Facility at Chelsea Proving Grounds

FCA US announced today that it has invested more than $30 million at its Chelsea Proving Grounds in southeast Michigan to further development and testing of autonomous vehicle and advanced safety technologies. The all-new facility, which begins testing programs in September, features a dedicated autonomous highway-speed track, 35-acre safety-feature evaluation area and a high-tech command center.

LA Kings to Purchase and Distribute Emergency Safety Kits to Local Schools With Proceeds From Taste of The South Bay Event

AEG’s Los Angeles Kings and the Kings Care Foundation announced the club will use the proceeds from this year’s Taste of the South Bay event on Thursday, August 23 to purchase emergency safety kits to equip South Bay classrooms.

The announcement was made as the Kings hosted Taste of the South Bay presented by The DOMO Group. The 10th annual Taste of the South Bay event is an upscale, food-centric social event at Shade Hotel’s beautiful location in Redondo Beach.

Walmart Joins Ranks of Retailers Pulling Toxic Paint Strippers From Shelves

On Monday, Walmart announced that it will stop selling paint strippers containing methylene chloride or N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP) by February 2019 – making it the first general merchandise retailer to take such action. Walmart’s announcement follows the strong leadership demonstrated by Lowes, Home Depot, and Sherwin Williams, all of which have committed not to sell methylene chloride- and NMP-based paint stripping products by the end of the year. Importantly, Walmart’s action goes beyond its U.S. stores, including those in Mexico, Canada, and Central America, as well as its online store.

If you want to see what the highway of the future might look like, then you only need to drive down to Georgia. On an 18-mile segment of Interstate 85 — stretching from the city of LaGrange to the Alabama border, 67 miles from Atlanta — a consortium of government agencies, global companies, and academic researchers, along with the Ray C. Anderson Foundation are working together to build a smart roadway.
