Habitat ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell building materials, appliances, new and gently used furniture, and home accessories at a fraction of the retail price. With nearly 900 Habitat ReStores across the U.S., proceeds allow Habitat to help more families build and improve their homes.

North Market is More Than a Grocery Store

General Mills’ $250,000 donation to Pillsbury United Communities toward the development of North Market aims to help provide access to healthy food in north Minneapolis.

The nonprofit grocery is expected to open this November. It will be the first full-service grocery store in North Minneapolis to open in more than 10 years.

McDonald’s USA Named National Sponsor of Keep America Beautiful’s Great American Cleanup

Keep America Beautiful, the nation’s iconic community improvement nonprofit organization, today announced McDonald’s has become a National Sponsor of Keep America Beautiful’s Great American Cleanup (GAC), the largest year-round community improvement program in the country. Efforts will get underway on Sept. 9, 2017 with National Planting Day, a fall initiative of the GAC. McDonald’s is the exclusive Presenting Sponsor of National Planting Day.

Habitat for Humanity Readies Response to Hurricane Irma

As Hurricane Irma makes landfall in the Caribbean and moves toward the United States, Habitat for Humanity – already at work in storm-ravaged southeast Texas – is preparing to expand its hurricane recovery response. Through the Habitat Hammers Back initiative, Habitat for Humanity is working with its local offices in Irma’s projected path to prepare for the storm and is positioning response equipment.

Motivated by the need caused by the devastation from Hurricane Harvey and the threat of Hurricane Irma, Keep America Beautiful, the nation’s iconic community improvement nonprofit organization, today launched the Community Restoration and Resiliency Fund. Lowe’s, a long-time national sponsor of Keep America Beautiful, has agreed to become a founding member of the fund with a donation of more than $125,000. Artists and Entertainers’ Hurricane Harvey Relief Telethon to Support Habitat for Humanity’s Recovery Efforts

Habitat for Humanity’s response to Hurricane Harvey will get a boost as one of six beneficiaries of “Hand in Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Harvey Relief” telethon that will air nationally on Tuesday, Sept. 12, from 8-9 p.m. EDT. The telethon will feature some of the nation’s biggest stars coming together to raise funds for those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Funds raised for Habitat for Humanity will go directly to support the organization’s response to Harvey.
