SC Johnson Turkey Named Best Workplace for Third Consecutive Year

SC Johnson Turkey has been recognized as one of the Best Workplaces in Turkey by Great Place to Work® for the third consecutive year. The Turkey organization earned the No. 3 spot among mid-sized companies on the annual Best Workplace list of companies in Turkey with 50-250 employees.

Reengaging the Hispanic Workforce Through Innovation

A recent Bureau of Labor Statistics report indicated that across all employment types and demographics fatal work injuries have decreased from 5,190 in 2016 to 5,147 in 2017, and the numbers of fatalities in construction and extraction occupation have fallen from 970 to 965. However, fatalities among Hispanic and Latino workers have increased from 879 to 903 over the same time span.

The National Hispanic Entrepreneurs’ Organization (NHEO) Institute is a non-profit leading the Building a Safer Future campaign that tackles this issue by providing support to local communities and corporations among Hispanic workers.

The Launch of Employee Resource Groups Brings an Inclusive Spirit to Viacom

Last month, 300 Viacom employees gathered on the outdoor pavilion of their Buenos Aires office, clad in sunglasses to temper the summer sunshine. A mix of long-time Viacom employees and those that joined the company via its 2016 acquisition of broadcaster Telefe, they browsed informational stations about Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) devoted to the interests of women, parents, the LGBTQ community, and aspiring next-generation professionals.

Over the past five years, our journey towards a more diverse and inclusive workplace has evolved from a targeted focus on women to an intersectional program for all employees. While we continue to learn and iterate to provide the best environment for our employees to thrive, we are steadfast in our belief in the power of human difference. Merck has been recognized by the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) for its commitment to diversity and inclusion. AISES released its listing of the 50 Top STEM Workplaces for Indigenous STEM Professionals in the Spring 2019 issue of Winds of Change, AISES’ national magazine which focuses on career and educational advancement for Native people in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
