Aflac Recognized as One of America's 50 Most Community-Minded Companies Company Honored by Points of Light with Civic 50 Award

Aflac, the leading provider of voluntary insurance at the worksite in the United States, announced that Points of Light has named Aflac to its 2018 Civic 50 list. According to their website, Points of Light is the world's largest organization dedicated to volunteer service. The Civic 50 provides a national standard for superior corporate citizenship and showcases how companies can use their time, skills and other resources to improve the communities in which they do business. The award recognizes Aflac as one of the most community-minded companies in the United States.

Tyson Foods Invests in Community Healthcare Education and Access

For the 11th consecutive year, Humana is included on CR Magazine’s 100 Best Corporate Citizens list and is one of only two health insurers to make the list. Each year, Corporate Responsibility Magazine (CR Magazine) announces a list of 100 companies with standout corporate social responsibility (CSR) performance. Humana is No. 69 on the 2018 Best Corporate Citizens list for its efforts, including health and well-being programs, environmental sustainability and a commitment to ethics and governance.

Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation’s $25M Commitment to Cancer Moonshot Recognized at AACR Annual Meeting

The Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation’s commitment to address health disparities in cancer outcomes and care was represented at the Biden Cancer Initiative event at AACR. In 2016, the Foundation joined the Cancer Moonshot initiative and donated $25M to grantee projects to expand community-based cancer care resources and patient engagement and support programs for racial and ethnic minorities, rural, low income and vulnerable populations in the U.S. Grantee projects are being implemented in over 25 states across the country.

eHealth Centers Improve the Rural Healthcare Crisis in India

This year HPE has already committed to launching five additional facilities. In February, HPE and the State Government of Uttarakhand signed an agreement to donate four eHealth Centers and one telemedicine studio in the state, which sits in one of the most treacherous and mountainous regions of India. Meanwhile, in the state of Maharsahtra, the government has requested HPE open a sixth center following the success of five deployed centers that have already benefitted over 10,000 patients. The new center is expected to benefit a population base of 9,000 additional villagers across 3 villages in and around Pachora.
