Common Impact, a nonprofit that pioneered corporate skills-based volunteering, teamed up with longtime partner John Hancock to design its inaugural skills-based flash consulting event in Boston. Structured as a team-based, flash consulting event, John Hancock matched teams of volunteers with five local nonprofit organizations dedicated to developing youth in low-income communities to support projects focused on technology and data, two critical areas of need for nonprofits.

Aramark Associates Revitalize Playground for Wynnewood Family Hope Center

More than 10,000 Aramark (NYSE: ARMK) team members, including more than 100 from the Dallas area, volunteered to support community centers and nonprofit organizations in the communities where they live and work, on Aramark Building Community Day (ABC Day).

Volunteers in 15 countries, including the U.S., Canada, Chile, China and the United Kingdom, gave their time, energy and expertise to over 500 service projects, which will bring health and wellness education and workforce readiness programs to families in underserved communities.

Volkswagen Group of America Employees Give Back With Get Involved "Summer of Service"

Volkswagen Group of America (VWGoA) recently concluded its inaugural Get Involved “Summer of Service” in which more than 450 employees around the country volunteered over 1400 hours with charitable organizations in the communities where they live and work. The Summer of Service featured more than 25 different employee volunteer projects organized by seven VWGoA locations across the United States.

Points of Light Releases The 2017 Civic 50 Report

Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service, has released a new report, “Inspiring and Leading in Times of Change: Insights and Best Practices from The 2017 Civic 50.” The Civic 50 provides a national standard for superior corporate citizenship and showcases how companies can use their time, skills and other resources to improve the quality of life in the communities where they do business.

9/11 Day of Service Through Pro Bono

The Taproot Foundation gathered nonprofits and skilled volunteers across the country to celebrate 9/11 Day of Service through pro bono, supported by American Express. Organizations in New York City, Washington DC, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco brought their challenges to Taproot’s Speed Consulting workshop to garner insights from industry experts in such areas as marketing, HR, strategy, and finance.
