BJ’s Wholesale Club Kicks-Off New Kearny Location with $10,000 Grant to Recreation Department

In celebration of the BJ’s Wholesale Club opening soon in Kearny, the company today announced a $10,000 BJ’s Charitable Foundation grant to the Kearny Recreation Department to help the nights get a little brighter at Harvey Field. To provide even more support to the local community, the company is also giving the Recreation Department and other organizations the chance to earn up to $100,000 in funds through its Fuel Your Fundraiser® program.

Veterans Aid Completes First Stage of Hostel Refurbishment with Bloomberg’s Support

Veterans Aid today announced the completion of its Old Rectory transformation, part of the charity’s £7 million New Belvedere House hostel refurbishment project. Beat the Heat: Occupational Exposure to Heat and Hot Environments

With summer underway, now is the perfect time for organizations to examine their policies and procedures regarding employee heat exposure, especially in light of the recently published document from NIOSH titled, “Occupational Exposure to Heat and Hot Environments”, Publication Number 2016-106.

Heat-related injuries and illnesses in the workplace are more common than you would think. In 2010, for example, there were 4,190 injury or illness cases related to heat that resulted in one or more lost work days, according to the NIOSH report. Between 2013 and 2014 there were 20 cases of heat related illness or death.
