When President Donald Trump announced America’s withdrawal from the Paris climate change accord, the decision horrified many observers, both within the US and beyond. John Hickenlooper, the Democratic governor of Colorado, was among them. “Abandoning this climate deal is like ripping off your parachute when you should be pulling the ripcord,” Hickenlooper declared, using the pithy turn of phrase for which he is renowned.

Successful Summer STEM Externship at Weatherford
We are incredibly committed to STEM education at Weatherford, especially when it comes to supporting women and underprivileged youth. In 2016, we provided approximately 2,220 students with STEM mentorship through our Weatherford Worldwide Initiative Supporting Education (WISE) program. In June, the Weatherford WISE program hosted seven high school girls from the Houston area for their IPAA/PESA summer externship.

In January of 2012, we teamed up with representatives from the sustainability department at The Dow Chemical Company with the goal of creating a viable, creative solution that would advance The Company’s efforts to address the risk associated with freshwater scarcity. With uncertainty surrounding the impacts of climate change and other environmental threats, it is becoming increasingly important for corporations to fully understand and incorporate the value of the benefits nature provides into strategic decisions.

Its main tasks are to decide major public health policy questions, approve the World Health Organization’s work programme and budget, and elect its Director General. Together with our UN partner WSSCC and Wateraid, Essity hosted an event focusing on “Hygiene and Health throughout the Life Course”.
