Doing the Right Thing - Beyond the P&L
As a financial services leader, I often find myself reflecting on the question of ethics in business and my organization’s social mission. In a fast-moving and constantly changing business environment, there is an increasing need to do more with less and, of course, to be more profitable. But what really drives profitability these days? Investing for the future requires us to look beyond the P&L, and to hone in on an element just as important….the value we bring to society at large.

Ecocentricity Blog: The Triple Bottom Line Approach
"True triple bottom line thinking is not about doing well and doing good, but rather about doing well by doing good. Strong triple bottom line companies seek to operate in a way that creates value in all three realms simultaneously. It’s about more of all, not some of each, and it requires a business to be honest about the harms it inflicts and authentic in seeking to eliminate those harms."

Our Commitment to Address Homelessness in Rome
In Europe, homelessness is on the rise. Countries across the continent have seen large increases in the number of people who are homeless. Addressing homelessness – and helping those in need – is an imperative for all of us, especially those of us who have the ability to make a difference. At Cisco, we take that imperative close to heart – taking on big challenges and doing what we can to make an impact are core to who we are. To further our efforts in making an impact, I am proud that this week we are announcing a commitment of $1 million over four years to support a Housing First pilot in Rome with Comunità di Sant’Egidio, an organization that for 50 years has addressed poverty in Italy and in other countries around the world.
