Timo Schmidt-Eisenhart (Timberland): "The 'Boom' of Sneakers Is Not a Trend, but a Phenomenon."
Timo Schmidt-Eisenhart is, since 2013, the president of Timberland for Emea (Europe, the Middle East and Africa). The German executive also worked for another brand of VF Corporation, The North Face, where he was the general manager of the brand for Europe for three years. His career, however, began in the US giant Nike, where he was in charge of different sales executive departments for seven years.

Timberland Receives Best Economic Empowerment Program Award for Work in Haiti
Timberland’s work to reintroduce cotton farming to Haiti was honored recently with the US Chamber of Commerce Citizenship Award for the Best Economic Empowerment Program. In partnership with the Smallholder Farmers Alliance(SFA), the global outdoor lifestyle brand aims to create a new supply chain for sustainable cotton for use in its products through a program that will also contribute to reforesting Haiti and improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers.

Timberland Named Finalist for U.S. Chamber of Commerce Corporate Citizenship Award
Timberland continues to gain recognition for its efforts to reintroduce cotton farming to Haiti through an agroforestry program that will also improve the lives of smallholder farmers and help to reforest the country. This week, the global outdoor lifestyle brand was named a finalist for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Corporate Citizenship Awards, which honors excellence in corporate citizenship. Timberland’s entry, “Seeds for Haiti’s Future,” was recognized in the Best Economic Empowerment Program category.

Timberland Supports Haitian Farmers as They Plant Haiti’s First Commercial Cotton Crop in 30 Years
Smallholder farmers near Gonaives, Haiti recently planted the first commercial cotton crop in the country since 1987, with support from Timberland and other brands. The farmers planted a demonstration farm which will train other smallholder farmers to cultivate cotton. As a key supporter of the effort, Timberland provided participating farmers with shirts as a symbol of the future market for the cotton they planted. The global outdoor lifestyle brand, in partnership with the Smallholder Farmers Alliance, aims to bring cotton farming back to Haiti not only to create a new supply chain for organic cotton to use in its products, but also to help reforest Haiti and improve the lives of smallholder farmers.
