Along with producing a responsibly made collection of shoes, bags, and t-shirts, global outdoor lifestyle brand Timberland’s partnership with Thread combines a shared passion for supporting communities in Haiti, creating dignified income opportunities and cleaner neighborhoods in the developing country. Thread’s vibrant network provides jobs for roughly 1,300 bottle collectors, entrepreneurs and manufacturing employees in Haiti. The partnership and Timberland X Thread collection has also allowed Timberland to build off its commitment to increase the use of recycled, organic and renewable materials in its products. From 2009 through 2015, Timberland transformed the equivalent of 233 million plastic water bottles into footwear. The S’17 Timberland X Thread collection alone resulted in 765,280 plastic bottles recycled and 30,521,203 gallons of water saved.
