Surrounded by family and colleagues, Andrea Tucker, operations manager for Smithfield Foods, was honored to receive a 2019 STEP Ahead Award from The Manufacturing Institute. The STEP Ahead Awards celebrate women in the manufacturing industry that make a difference through advocacy, mentorship, engagement, promotion, and leadership. Andrea was selected due to her dedication to operational excellence at our Wilson, North Carolina facility.
Bloomberg recently announced the expansion of its New Voices initiative to the Middle East at an event held in its Dubai office and attended by 50 public relations and finance professionals from the region. Dubai is the latest city to join New York, San Francisco, London, Toronto and Hong Kong in the New Voices initiative; Sydney and Mumbai will join later this year.
Last month, 300 Viacom employees gathered on the outdoor pavilion of their Buenos Aires office, clad in sunglasses to temper the summer sunshine. A mix of long-time Viacom employees and those that joined the company via its 2016 acquisition of broadcaster Telefe, they browsed informational stations about Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) devoted to the interests of women, parents, the LGBTQ community, and aspiring next-generation professionals.
