FOX and EMPIRE to Build Free Music Studios for Youth Across the U.S.

As FOX prepares for the September 23 premiere of Empire's second season, the network is partnering with the nonprofit Notes for Notes for a new initiative entitled "FOX PRESENTS EMPIRE Behind the Beat." The campaign will raise money to build fully equipped music studios across the country for young people to have free access to instruments and audio equipment, as well as professional mentors to help them hone their talent. The program will inspire the next generation to create its own musical voice.

DETROIT, August 19, 2015 /3BL Media/ – Pontiac High School students returning to classes this week are being greeted by a new, massive “PHOENIX PRIDE” sign that represents more than the school’s mascot. Ten of their classmates helped refurbish several areas of Pontiac this summer as members of the GM Student Corps.

Why Children Need a Good Digital Community to Become Good Digital Citizens

When kids as young as five years-old receive their first mobile devices, who better to teach them how to use the technology responsibly than their parents? It’s just one of many parenting responsibilities, like teaching healthy eating habits, good study habits and good manners. But what happens when kids begin and continue their online journeys outside of their parents’ purview or homes? It’s not uncommon now for young school-aged children to be utilizing technology this way: using a math app in the classroom, watching a video on their grandparents’ iPad or playing a game on an Xbox at a friend’s house.

Republic Services Partnered with the University of Nevada Las Vegas for the First Annual Recyclathon

Republic Services partnered with the University of Nevada Las Vegas for the first annual Recyclathon, a campus wide initiative and contest encouraging faculty and staff from each college and the student body to recycle each semester. Recyclathon was established to celebrate and honor the 20 anniversary of the on-campus Rebel Recycling Program. As of 2015 the University, in collaboration with Republic Services, collects more than three tons of material every day on UNLV’s main campus, its residence halls, athletics facilities and satellite campuses.
