Business action on water will be key in the coming years, as demand for water is set to outstrip water supply 40% by 2030. In other words, wasting water no longer makes sense from a business perspective. Yet, 80% of wastewater still goes back into the environment untreated.

The sustainability nonprofit organization Ceres announced today that Target (NYSE: TGT) and U.S. Bank (NYSE: USB) have joined the Ceres Company Network. The Ceres board of directors approved the two new memberships in July.

Few issues are more universally pressing than climate change. The Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC), a nonprofit coalition of leading companies dedicated to improving social, environmental and ethical conditions in their global supply chains, today announced that human rights activist and actress Julia Ormond will provide the keynote address at EICC’s annual conference in Santa Clara, Calif. on Oct. 17, 2017.

The recognition was for the work done during the last more than three years through the Manos al Agua app, which manages relevant information that enables to monitor and control activities. The app gets real-time information on training and implementation activities on farms and in coffee river basins.
