Northern Trust funded and presented a Hydrotherapy Pool at the Association of People with Disability in Bangalore!

The American Black Film Festival and Lightbox, the award-winning U.S. and U.K. production company, today announced that director Muta’Ali is the recipient of their first annual documentary film development fund. Muta’Ali will work with Lightbox and ABFF to develop his feature documentary Storm Over Brooklyn. The ABFF Lightbox Documentary Initiative was launched earlier this year to support and foster documentary filmmakers with diverse voices and perspectives and is sponsored by 21st Century Fox and National Geographic.

CBRE hosted its first-ever simulcast for members of the CBRE Women’s Network, on November 9. The live-streaming presentation, called "A Conversation with Amy Cuddy," was viewed by more than 3,000 CBRE women and men across the U.S., Canada, Latin America and Australia.

Amy Cuddy, the keynote speaker, is a Harvard Business School professor who studies how nonverbal behavior and snap judgments affect people in business settings. She spoke in person, exclusively to the Women's Network at the main event in New York City, and her presentation was broadcast to more than 80 CBRE viewing locations worldwide.

The simulcast was the cornerstone of a half-day, professional development opportunity for all CBRE women.

Duke Energy received a perfect score of 100 percent in Human Rights Campaign's national benchmarking study that annually ranks companies on LGBT-friendly corporate practices and policies. The perfect score earned Duke Energy the distinction of "Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality."

For some kids and teens, developing a love of reading can be difficult. After their family experienced this firsthand, siblings Alana, Jacob and Reuben Blumenstein founded KidsRead2Kids.com to help promote both the love of reading, as well as access to reading for youth and adults alike.

CBRE hosted its first "Power of WE" Conference on November 14-15 in Nashville, Tennessee. The Power of WE, which stands for Women Excelling, was organized by the CBRE Women's Network for the company's most senior business women and the top women executives from its client companies. The conference featured workshops, discussions and networking opportunities at which they could explore ideas and trends in commercial real estate, and discover new ways to continue excelling in their careers.

A Wells Fargo grant is helping a Grammy award-winning artist continue to support the troops at Camp Southern Ground. Former Army Master Sgt. Orlando Aikens went to camp for a day and returned home with a clearer view of his future.

Hopefully by now, you’ve heard all about our latest women in STEM-themed series, A Balanced Equation! But what you might not know is that behind the scenes, an awesome bunch of Roadtrip Nation roadies—Mimi, Jen, Kelsey, and Ellen—have been visiting schools, Boys and Girls Clubs, and STEM-focused organizations across the country, screening clips from the series for over 2,000 students and young adults.
