Community Engagement Professionals Gather to Learn from and Celebrate Bold Leaders Making Brave Moves in the Field of Corporate Societal Engagement

CECP: The CEO Force for Good will convene the 2017 CECP Summit: Brave Leaders. Bold Moves May 23-24, 2017 in NYC, bringing together 250 corporate leaders who drive societal investment strategies at the world’s largest companies. Attendees will learn and connect with the trailblazers making big, bold moves in a complex business climate – those who are taking charge and re-defining ‘purpose’ and success for themselves. CECP is a coalition of more than 200 companies and CEOs that believes that a company’s social strategy--how it engages with key stakeholders including employees, communities, investors, and customers--determines company success.

As the senior vice president of community investment at Comcast Corp. and president of the Comcast Foundation, Wilson-Scott leads the company’s social initiatives. In her role, she meets with various leaders in Philadelphia to learn what support Comcast can provide and often travels to NBCUniversal’s offices and studios nationwide.

Lowe’s Helps to Keep America Beautiful with Volunteers and More Than $6 Million in Total Contributions

Keep America Beautiful, the nation’s iconic community improvement nonprofit organization, today announced the organization has received a $1 million donation from Lowe’s to support more than 35 local community service projects in 2017. Since the partnership began in 2012, Lowe’s has contributed more than $6 million and over 1,800 Lowe’s Heroes volunteers to help Keep America Beautiful improve communities. The donation this year will also support Keep America’s Beautiful’s annual Great American Cleanup, the nation’s largest community improvement program.

Republic Services Participates in Corvallis Community’s ‘Couch Patrol’

The City of Corvallis, Republic Services and other local partners teamed up for what is locally referred to as Couch Patrol. The idea came out of a Rental Property Managers Group meeting at the Corvallis Elks Lodge last May, and has turned into a successful initiative. Local property managers and landlords, the City of Corvallis and Oregon State University are also involved in this effort to reduce the clutter on the streets and other livability issues that stem from the spring move-out (in the spring) or move-in (in the fall) of OSU students.

Xylem Waterdrop Allows Xylem Partners to Participate in Xylem Watermark

Every time a registered employee of one of Xylem’s commercial partners learns about, selects or specifies Xylem products within Building Services, they collect drops. For every single drop, Xylem contributes one U.S. dollar to Watermark to use toward building a Planet Water Foundation AquaTower, providing clean water and hygiene education at schools around the world.

Goose Island Beer Company Teams Up with Keep America Beautiful for Migration Week Volunteer Events

Keep America Beautiful, the nation’s iconic community improvement nonprofit organization, today announced it will partner with Goose Island Beer Company on the brewery’s Migration Week Tour. Five partnership grants of $3,500 each will be used for community improvement projects in five cities during Goose Island’s international Migration Week beer and brewers’ tour.

Yet, when people say these words, they can have such a big impact. My late wife, Kate, started the #HelloMyNameIs campaign in 2013 while living with terminal cancer. As a medic herself, she had become frustrated with nurses and doctors who never introduced themselves to her before providing medical care.
