Republic Services of Huntington Beach partnered with Surf City and the International Surfing Museum this week to set the Guinness World Record for the largest paddle-out at the Huntington Beach pier. More than 525 local surfers participated, including local elected officials, community leaders, businesses and residents of all ages.

CAMDEN, NJ, June 21, 2017 /3BL Media/ - Camden County Habitat for Humanity and Subaru of America, Inc. volunteers recently raised the walls on a new house on Royden Street, in Camden, New Jersey. Tom Doll, president and chief operating officer, Subaru of America, Inc. and 12 Subaru volunteers joined Camden County Habitat for Humanity, on June 16, to begin building a new home and a bright future for The Martinez Family, Jessica, her six-year-old son Ethan and baby girl arriving in September. Jessica is a single parent, who works a full-time job and goes to school. She is looking forward to having a place for her kids to call home. A place where Ethan can share his love of sports with his new sister.

For the fourth consecutive year, Comcast NBCUniversal has been named to “The Civic 50,” which recognizes the most community-minded companies in the nation, by Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service.

Ecolab Inc. was recognized by Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service, as one of the most community-minded companies in the U.S. The 2017 Civic 50 list, announced June 20, recognizes companies that use their time, skills and other resources to improve the quality of life in the communities where they operate.

MGM Resorts International was named to The Civic 50 list of America's most community-minded companies by Points of Light, the largest organization in the world dedicated to volunteer service. The company was recognized as a result of its participation in an annual survey used to identify companies for their exemplary commitment and activities to improve the quality of life in the communities where they do business.

Planet Water Foundation’s Project 24, an ambitious undertaking on World Water Day, built 24 AquaTowers in 24 communities in just 24 hours. These projects reached a total of 24,000 people. Xylem Watermark and 27 Xylem volunteers assisted in the construction of 6 of these community-based water systems this year on World Water Day, bringing clean water to thousands of people across five countries, including Cambodia, Colombia, India, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

Kim Smith is vice president of Attack Helicopter Programs and leads the Boeing site in Mesa, Arizona, which produces the AH-64 Apache and AH-6i Little Bird helicopters for the U.S. Army and allied defense forces around the globe.

Today my school looks drastically different than it did at the beginning of the school year, and that is thanks to the more than 400 members of the Comcast NBCUniversal family, including dozens from their nonprofit partner City Year, who joined us on our campus in April for Comcast Cares Day. The volunteers made change happen by painting bright and colorful murals throughout the school that focus on STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and college preparedness. The physical transformation of the school has inspired our students, where 80 percent of them are eligible for free or reduced lunch, to believe that each and every one can and will be ready for a college career when they graduate.

Approximately 1,000 Astellas employees attending the company’s National Sales Forum recently gathered to assemble almost 2,800 items for children’s charities in Southern Nevada as part of the company’s annual day of service program, Changing TomorrowDay .
