Subaru of America, Inc. and Greensgrow Farms, Philadelphia’s famous urban farm and community garden center, will welcome its neighbors and visitors to celebrate the fall season at the Subaru Fall Festival at Greensgrow Farms on October 7, 2017. The Subaru Fall Festival at Greensgrow Farms is Philadelphia’s premier harvest season event, expecting crowds of over 4,000 people from all over the region.

Most people would agree that forests are a vital part of a healthy planet: around 1.6 billion people directly depend on forests for their livelihoods, and forest trees help provide us with healthy soils, clean water and even breathable air. The role of fungi is less well known. Yet without fungi, forests would not exist.

Each submission I reviewed involved an immense amount of work from these teams, and I’m grateful to them for the time and effort they put toward the challenge. While as judges we couldn’t advance every team to the Accelerator Phase, I was impressed by every entry I saw.
