On October 25, Whole Foods Market will celebrate the 12th anniversary of Whole Planet Foundation, the company’s nonprofit dedicated to global poverty alleviation. Poverty is Unnecessary Day marks the launch of the foundation in 2005 to alleviate poverty around the world where the company sources products. Joining this effort are Poverty is Unnecessary Fund® partners, who collectively are committed to donating $300,000 this year.

Albertsons Companies Hurricane Relief Fundraising Tops $8 Million. Company Donates Millions in Products and Pledges Continued Partnership with Affected Communities

Albertsons Companies today reported that, in the span of 21 days, its generous customers and employees helped raise more than $8 million in disaster relief donations for the victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma through a point-of-sale campaign at its 2,300+ stores. The company also contributed millions of dollars in products to help people in Texas and Florida recover from the recent hurricanes. Albertsons Companies has a long history of helping cities recover from disasters, such as the recent hurricanes that hit Texas and Florida. In recognition of this commitment, Albertsons Companies was nominated as a finalist for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation's Corporate Citizenship Awards for its disaster relief and outreach efforts during Louisiana's devastating floods last year. LA Kings Host Annual Beach Cities 5K/10K Fundraiser

AEG’s LA Kings and Kings Care Foundation partnered with Hydrocephalus Association (HA) for the 4th year to host joint 5K/10K races and a fundraising walk on Saturday, Sept. 9. Through aligning efforts, the events raised nearly $1 million in support of research since 2014 including more than $200,000 this past weekend.

AT&T Pledges an Additional $1.4 Million to Hurricane Relief With New Matching Donation

AT&T* is donating another $1.4 million to hurricane relief, which includes a $1 million matching donation to Team Rubicon, $150,000 to Telecoms Sans Frontieres, a group that is working to reestablish connectivity for emergency responders and communities in the Caribbean, and $250,000 to local charities in states impacted by Irma. We will work with state officials to direct the $250,000 donations where they can be most beneficial.

Habitat Hammers Back: Habitat for Humanity Receives Major Support for Hurricane Recovery As Leading Housing Nonprofit Begins Its Response

Four organizations will serve as keystone partners of Habitat for Humanity’s response to Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, each making contributions of $1 million or more to support the Habitat Hammers Back initiative. The gifts from the Dow Chemical Company, General Motors, Thrivent Financial and a group of American wind energy companies will support on-the-ground responses to the hurricanes in Texas, Florida and other affected areas.
