I recently returned to the US after a week of thoughtful dialogue and action at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, the annual meeting of WEF, an international organization focused on public private cooperation and engaging world leaders to shape global, regional and industry agendas. The Forum in Davos was an important platform to advance our vision and learn from leaders across food, business, policy and non-profit sectors. Changing of the Guard

Cecily Joseph has run Symantec’s Corporate Responsibility (CR) program for the past 13 years. This week she’s moving on to a new chapter in her life and is passing the reigns to Jaime Barclay, Senior Manager of CR at Symantec. Viacom Partners with the “I Have A Dream” Foundation for MLK Service Day

Viacom’s Corporate Social Responsibility branch, also known as Viacommunity, recently partnered with the “I Have A Dream” Foundation to engage in a service opportunity in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Viacom employees had the opportunity to lend their time to assembling care packages, which included: healthy snacks, supplies, and writing encouraging notes. Eugena Oh, CEO & President of the foundation opened the event by speaking about the mission of the foundation and the impact the Viacommunity has had on fostering its programs.

Hormel Foods Drives Environmental Sustainability Results Through Annual Competition

Hormel Foods Corporation has announced its Austin (Minn.) Plant team has been named the company’s 2018 Environmental Sustainability Best of the Best champion for its heat recovery project. The internal annual Environmental Sustainability Best of the Best award program, now in its 11th year, recognizes teams for their achievements in reducing environmental impacts. The Austin Plant team’s winning project focused on the design and installation of the most efficient heat recovery system available to meet the plant’s needs, which resulted in an annual energy savings of 101,000 MMBtu and an additional 17 million gallons of water.

Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation Grants $40,000 To The Capital Area Food Bank and Manna Food Center

Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation announced today that it will offer grants totaling $ 40,000 to The Capital Area Food Bank and to Manna Food Center (Manna), two not-for-profit organizations. The grants will support efforts by those organizations to make nutritious food accessible to those in need. Due to the partial government shutdown, more families needed food assistance and food banks, nonprofits and community leaders were attempting to fill the gap.
