3 Top Women in Grocery Share Insights on Success, Mentoring, #MeToo and More

I believe that success in the workplace is when a workforce is engaged and feels “connected” to their organization. Connected employees care about their company’s success, and they truly believe their company cares about them.

Success in the workplace is where diverse groups of people are always challenged yet choose to step up and work together to find great solutions. It is where every employee sees a path for themselves to learn and grow, is motivated to contribute at a high level, feels valued and appreciated as well as feel they are part of something bigger than themselves.

Since then, it has grown to recognize six individuals and six groups annually, receiving as many as 250 nominations in a single year. The D&I Champions Recognition Program has become a cornerstone of the D&I team’s efforts to help team members understand what leading inclusively looks like, and to reinforce the behaviors the company would want to see.

Supporting Our Military Community

In 2012, we pledged to hire 2,000 veterans by 2015, and in 2015, we pledged to hire 10,000 members of the military community by the end of 2017. We surpassed both goals, and since 2010 we’ve added more than 15,000 veterans, National Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses to the Comcast NBCUniversal family. Our success has led us to expand our hiring and outreach efforts.

We know that supporting our military community takes more than employment alone. We’re using our resources and reach to foster nationwide partnerships that empower the military community, and embracing volunteer service opportunities to support the efforts of many veterans and military-related nonprofit organizations.

Diversity in the Newsroom: Time to Address the Elephant in the Room
