World Monuments Fund (WMF) announced today more than $1 million in funding to support disaster response and restoration efforts at Monte Albán Archaeological Site in Oaxaca, Mexico. The new project is the latest in WMF’s long history of supporting cultural heritage sites damaged or destroyed at the hands of natural disaster – beginning with the floods of Venice in 1966.
SC Johnson today announced the winners of a student essay competition and awarded $100,000 to Racine-area schools as part of the company’s longstanding commitment to literacy. The results were announced at a celebration event for the company’s Racine Wonders literacy program, which kicked off in January 2018 with distribution of the book “Wonder” to 9,000 area students. SC Johnson also surprised the 250 students in attendance with Kindle Fire tablets to further encourage a love of reading.
Official production of the Subaru Ascent, a new three-row SUV that will seat up to eight passengers, began at Subaru’s Lafayette, Indiana plant yesterday. To mark the occasion, members of the famous Subaru canine family, The Barkleys, visited SIA to welcome the family vehicle to the Subaru line-up. In addition, SIA presented $8,000 in grants to four local nonprofit organizations focused on animal welfare: Almost Home Humane Society, Loving Heart Animal Shelter, Natalie’s Second Chance No-Kill Dog Shelter and North Central Indiana Spay & Neuter.

Last week, our annual “JetBlue For Good” Dinner, hosted by our CEO and executive leadership, celebrated individual and team volunteer accomplishments over the past year.
When Ryan Bennie mentioned that he and his fellow firefighters “need a break,” he was saying a mouthful. Ryan was front and center during the Northern California wildfires that erupted in October 2017, racking up more than $9 billion in damages and taking dozens of lives along the way.
“It’s hopefully my career fire,” he says.
In addition to serving as a California firefighter and training captain for the Napa County Fire Department, Ryan heads up the Napa County Firefighters Association, a nonprofit organization that supports area fire departments with training and other services. On March 26, Ryan was on hand to accept a donation of 2,000 pounds of CytoSport products in honor of the association and the work of Napa Valley firefighters.
On Thursday, May 3 JetBlue brought its award-winning service and low fares to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP). To kick-off service, JetBlue hosted a two-day celebration for its newest route. The day before service started, JetBlue crewmembers participated in a special “JetBlue For Good Day of Service” at Jefferson Community School in Minneapolis. The day consisted of a Career Day Q&A between fifth graders and JetBlue pilots and crewmembers. Following Career Day, JetBlue donated 500 age-appropriate children books. Each fifth grade student had the opportunity to take a book home to build their personal libraries and some will be donated to the school’s library.

A new Barclays Corporate Banking survey of over 2,000 UK consumers shows younger people report giving more money to charities than the over 55s, challenging widely-held views that the older generation support good causes the most. People aged 35 to 54 say they gave an average of £265 last year to charities, followed by £246 from under-35s. Over 55s gave £168 in comparison.
As part of Tyson Foods’ efforts to raise the world’s expectations for how much good food can do and its commitment to support the communities it serves, the company announced today nearly $1.2 million in grants to 18 Feeding America food banks in 15 states.
