Gaining Perspective in Nepal
Along with several other members on the Tyson Foods Corporate Communications team, I traveled to Nepal to meet Moushumi Shrestha – agricultural entrepreneur and, together with Tyson Foods, co-sponsor of a brand new ONEEGG project in Nepal.

In Nepal, I was reminded that feeding the world isn’t a job for just one company in just one country. It’s a humongous task. And let’s face: development is messy. But when you see the work Moushumi and OneEgg are doing, and when you see companies like Tyson Foods supporting that work, you know that it’s possible.

That’s the good food can do. And that’s work worth doing.

Ecocentricity Blog: Summertime and the Living's Easy

Impact at Work: Mission Economic Development Agency Project Spotlight
In June 2017, Mission Economic Development Agency (MEDA) reached out to Common Impact to engage the support of a skilled volunteer team in achieving an important but challenging organizational goal – one that many nonprofit organizations are similarly striving to attain. MEDA's mission is to strengthen low- and moderate-income Latino families by promoting economic equity and social justice through asset building and community development. To ensure their work would be truly impactful and align with core themes in racial justice, MEDA’s leadership aimed to create a workplace that was reflective of the community it served.

Simple Steps to Relieve Mealtime Stress
Let’s be honest. By the end of summer, many parents are excited for back-to-school season. That is, until we remember the planning it takes to get back into a busy schedule. In our district, about 800 students and 90 staff members lost their homes. The fires also destroyed one of our elementary schools and a high school farm.

When faced with unimaginable tragedy, this community came together, and we truly felt the support that came in from around the world. Comcast NBCUniversal, with over 500 employees in the local area, was intimately aware of the devastation and jumped in to help.
