Being in the Zone: When Work Just Goes So Right
I recently had the fortune to visit one of our customers, and this visit was unlike any other I’ve ever had. To understand how we got to this day in March, let me give you some flavor of how these experiences usually go for context.

There’s route one: Our sales team emails or calls and says, “Hey, our customer is asking what we do for sustainability.” Typically this happens in April — Earth Month, of course — and other times during quarterly customer reviews. They ask for a few slides or send a questionnaire. This is my most loathed format because, from my end, I don’t see much done with the data and these requests take time. The sales rep is concerned because the request is steep and the details are tough, especially for those who aren’t subject matter experts. They also want to make su
From Exotic Felines to Teddy Bears, How Duke Energy Employees Made an Impact in May
The numbers tell the story: 2,300 volunteers, 14,000-plus hours served, 267 projects completed, 3,500 hurricane kits packed and 1,286 teddy bears stuffed. These are just a few of the numbers that showcase the impact of Duke Energy In Action Month.

At Comcast, our employees are passionate about giving back to their communities and making the world a more sustainable and better place. From Boston to Beijing: Record Number of Volunteers Make Change Happen
In recent weeks, Comcast NBCUniversal and Sky employees gathered their friends, family members, nonprofit partners, and community leaders to participate in Comcast Cares Day 2019, one of the largest corporate days of service globally, and a celebration of our company’s year-round dedication to giving back.
Physicians and AI Co-Piloting for Better Health
Every day, the healthcare industry processes massive amounts of data. To assess patients and provide treatments, doctors and physicians have to sift through it all, from patient history to genetic and environmental factors. But big data and technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) are changing how information is stored – the volume of it – and how it is shared and analyzed.
Mobile Solutions to Improve Access to Healthcare
Health inequality is a growing concern in Canada and the United States.1 Where you live can play a big part, especially for those living in remote communities, but so can employment status, income level, gender and ethnicity. And in turn, there is a link between the state of your health and your finances. The cost of care, the ability to carry a job or to participate in society can have health impacts.
The Rainbow Railroad
More people today are living as refugees or displaced persons than at any time since the end of World War II1 and many of those seeking asylum are from the LGBTQ2+ community. In more than 70 countries around the world LGBTQ2+ people are facing extreme violence and persecution.2 They are looking for hope and a safe place to call home.
Amplifying Diversity in the Arts
North America is one of the most diverse regions globally, but is this reflected in its arts? Arts and culture capture the spirit of the time and communities. They help bring people together by sparking conversations, raising awareness on important and relevant issues, and fostering a sense of belonging as viewers relate to the story behind a piece.
Trust and Partnership in Action
We recognize the relationship with our neighboring communities has a direct impact on our license to operate. A strong example of this recognition can be found at our Pascagoula Refinery in Mississippi where we implemented a process that reflects our approach to stakeholder engagement. We caught up with Melanie Landsiedel on the community affairs team at the refinery to learn more.
Making Changes Heard Around the Pilbara
Through our partnership with Telethon Speech & Hearing, we’ve helped to significantly reduce the number of harmful ear conditions among Aboriginal children, improving school readiness and engagement across the West Pilbara. Since our partnership began in 2011, the number of Aboriginal children under the age of seven affected by middle ear diseases in the Pilbara has dropped from 51% to 33%, an outstanding milestone that has produced meaningful impact. Almost 9,000 screenings have been conducted through the Chevron Pilbara Ear Health Program...
