Cox and The Trust for Public Land Name Marilyn Hanson as Arizona’s 2015 Cox Conserves Hero
Cox Communications and The Trust for Public Land today named Marilyn Hanson as Arizona’s 2015 Cox Conserves Hero. Hanson’s nonprofit of choice, Southern Arizona Buffelgrass Coordination Center, will receive $10,000 on her behalf. The three finalists were chosen by a judging panel and then competed in an online public vote to be named Arizona’s Cox Conserves Hero.

BJ’s Charitable Foundation Helps Local Hunger-Relief Agencies Feed More Families
In honor of Hunger Action MonthTM, BJ’s Charitable Foundation announces today that it will provide grants to Feeding America® and 21 member food banks totaling $600,000. Grants will support capacity building, food safety training and transportation costs for its local agencies, shelters, food pantries and other feeding programs. After helping to expand capacity in 2014 for more than 400 feeding pantries and programs that resulted in over 10 million more pounds of food to be donated, BJ’s Charitable Foundation will invest additional funding this year to further prevent a bottleneck in the supply chain for food distribution to Americans facing hunger.

City of Santa Rosa, California, and Trane to Increase Laguna Wastewater Treatment Plant’s Energy Independence
The City of Santa Rosa, CA, is collaborating with Trane, a leading global provider of indoor comfort solutions and services, to execute an innovative project that will increase energy independence at the city’s Laguna Wastewater Treatment Plant. This project includes implementing a $5 million grant from the California Energy Commission, the state’s primary energy and planning agency.
