Avista Receives Grant to Pilot a Shared Energy Economy Model
Recently, Avista was awarded a grant from the Washington Department of Commerce and Governor Jay Inslee’s Clean Energy Fund 2 to demonstrate how a Shared Energy Economy can benefit Washington energy consumers. The grant is the latest example of Avista’s 127-year history of innovation and positions the utility for the energy future.

Carnival Cruise Line and Carnival Corporation to Give $250,000 to Aid Organizations for Louisiana Flood Relief
Carnival Cruise Line and its parent company, Carnival Corporation, are giving a total of $250,000 to charitable organizations to support their efforts on behalf of victims of the Louisiana floods. The cruise line is donating $125,000 and its parent company is matching that amount through its Carnival Foundation charitable arm.

Republic Services (NYSE: RSG) is pleased to announce that the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) has named Republic’s Southern Nevada Recycling Center winner of the Gold Excellence Award in the Recycling Systems category.
