Philanthropy has reached an “impact tipping point” and none too soon. On one side of the “leading with impact” divide is the learning-first sector, one where organizations are becoming empowered to track and monitor their results real-time and seamlessly share and learn best practices from similar initiatives.
Every year, we come together as a nation to honor and thank the men and women who have made countless sacrifices to protect our freedoms. At Walmart, we know we all have a role to play when it comes to serving those who have served us. In fact, we hosted a Veterans Day celebration yesterday at our headquarters, championing our own veteran associates and the pride, talent and value they bring to our greater Walmart community. We’re passionate about our commitment to support men and women throughout their service journey, but our promise doesn’t end after November 11. It’s not enough to honor veterans only one day a year.
On September 12, the Sales team at Xylem Analytics UK in Letchworth turned their swiftwater and flood first responder training into a Walk for Water. As the participants walked to the training locations carrying the Watermark banner, they engaged local community members, increasing local awareness of the global water crisis.
For the 18th consecutive year, Safeway and Events DC today are celebrating the season of giving by providing a festive holiday meal for thousands at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Serving District residents from all eight of the city's wards, this beloved annual event will also feature a community services expo to include free flu shots, diabetes and HIV testing, and a clothing giveaway.
