CITGO Announces Donation of 50,000 Barrels of Diesel to Puerto Rico Relief Efforts

CITGO Petroleum Corporation, an indirect, wholly-owned subsidiary of Petroleos de Venezuela, S.A., announced today that it will donate up to 50,000 barrels of diesel to Puerto Rico. The donation is to assist the federal, state and local authorities in providing services to those afflicted by Hurricane Maria’s devastating path.

More than 500 Astellas Employees Give Back to Local Communities Across the U.S. For Changing Tomorrow Day – the Company’s 8th Annual Global Day of Service

Last Thursday, more than 500 Astellas employees on two continents left their offices, rolled up their sleeves and helped their communities. They were supporting Changing Tomorrow Day— a global effort to contribute time and resources to building stronger communities. Across the United States, employees carried their passion for helping others by volunteering at service projects to improve wellness facilities for patients and their families, bring books to children of all ages and beautify cultural institutions.

Eduardo Escobar is Committed to Helping Youth in his Native Venezuela and Minnesota

Though his Eduardo Escobar Foundation (@Fundacionescob1 on Twitter) he provides his Venezuelan neighbors with food, medical supplies, basic necessities and local baseball leagues with baseball equipment.

Escobar’s foundation recently delivered lunch to 2,000 in need in the Palo Negro neighborhood of Aragua, Venezuela. The act is part of foundation’s yearlong campaign to provide a helping hand to Venezuelans in need.

To help families affected by recent disasters, Abbott and its foundation the Abbott Fund are providing $4.25 million in donated products and grants to support hurricane and earthquake relief. Most recent efforts focus on Hurricane Maria and earthquakes in Mexico.

Habitat for Humanity and Bank of America are partnering for the fourth consecutive year on a Global Build that will engage bank employees and local Habitat organizations around the world.

Between Sept. 30 – Oct. 7, approximately 2,500 employee volunteers (#BofAVolunteers) will join their local Habitat organizations to help build, rehab or repair homes and revitalize neighborhoods in more than 90 communities in six countries, including the United States, Canada, Ireland, Australia, Hong Kong and Indonesia.
